--Inspiration
--Power Point
Podcasting
FLIP
--export as lower quality video size in Custom settings to improve download tiime and network/drive space
One True Media - media converter
Use Google Forms to collect science data
--increases number of trials without taking more time (each group works on a trial instead of repeated trials by all students)
--way to access data since the data results can be embedded
--set up each question independently to see real time data from Google

Podcasting
--Do Now, Tickets Out the Door, Test Review, Homework Help, record a class lecture, record experiment observations
--student or teacher generated
--post to web site, wiki, Power Point
--can organize in iTunes, if available, in alphabetical order
To embed in an online interface (iTunes not available):
--insert sound (MP3) into Power Point
--to put into a wiki, edit page, upload file into wiki
--PBWorks will upload file and play in Quick Time. Wikispaces will embed the player.

Wallwisher - parking lot, sorts, pictures linked, but not needed, can embed in wiki
Google Apps/Zoho
EtherPad - use with Google Apps to see, live, who is in the doc (coming soon)
Concept Mapping
--Webspiration (Inspiration) - can upload Inspiration file, collaboration documents work
--bubblus, mindmeister, mindomo, online mind mapping
VoiceThread for dicussion, assessment
Blogging - Blogger (WordPress), Edublog (WordPress engine)
--use a class scribe to contribute to "What's Going On in......"

--others: Online Whitebaord, Sriblink, skrbl
Presentation Files
--SlideShare, SlideRocket, SlideRoll to embed presentations into a wiki
Photos
--Picasa, Flickr, TeacherTube
Professional/Social Networking
--LinkedIn (social networking in professiona)
--Skype
--Oovoo
--Twitter
--Facebook/My Space (teachers should not be friends, but students might use as a study group??)

Science Documentaries - Saturday

Omaha Science (OSMP) project - bringing digital media to science in a meaningful way (Grant)
--goal: generate interest in science in a different way
--science, journalism, students, teachers (HS/MS)
--target audience were not A/B students
--2 teachers/2 students/media and audio specialists, specialist in the topic area, college students

Content created during the summer
Influence Prevention
--vocab, prevention tips on the scroll CNN-style
--interviews, recaps (news-like)
HIV Rapid Testing - community collaboration (teacher/student/doctor/TV journalist)

How can we apply what we learned? How can we bring it to the classroom in a timely manner?

Ideas:
Use Flip cam and have students do project updates for teacher to review later (use computer web cam, podcast)
Mrs. B's Science Blog (www.mrsbsscienceporch.blogspot.com) - removed poster projects
--permission to photograph and post to blog
End of Year Assessment
--create a video of what you have learned this year

Field trips, science experiment, science safety, video portfolio for conferences, math problem solving, practice a speech for critique, poetry readings, discussions, reading comprehension, Video RAFT, still shots with audio explanation

GlogsterEdu –Great for making digital posters. Very student friendly. Don’t use regular glogster(it is not meant for the classrooms)! You can have students use one classroom acount and then have them create their own page.
VoiceThread- Students can comment on your posted pictures. A great assessment tool!
